DESCRIPTION:Functional Nutrition for Optimising Bone Health\, Part 3: Supplements for Healthy Bone Metabolism \nLeaving behind a successful career in business and brand management\, Lorraine decided to retrain as a nutritional therapist\, and has now been in clinical practice for almost 18 years. She sees clients from her London clinic (currently via Zoom) and particularly enjoys working with individuals who have chronic\, long term conditions like gastrointestinal disorders\, autoimmune conditions\, hormonal issues (including menopausal problems) and musculoskeletal complaints. She also supports clients with cancer\, both during and after medical treatment. \nOnce in practice\, Lorraine went on to do a MSc in Nutrition and Chronic Illness at Middlesex University / CNELM. Then a post-grad teaching certificate; and since then some training with the Institute of Functional Medicine. \nLorraine has undertaken various teaching roles in nutrition\, including 5 years at West London University. Currently she lectures at three UK colleges (BCNH\, ION and CNELM) on their accredited nutritional therapy degree and diploma courses. \nShe has a long history of working with various nutritional healthcare organisations\, providing practitioner education and developing CPD events. This has long been known in both Allopathic Medicine and Holistic Medicine. In China\, Facial Diagnosis was one of the first forms of diagnosis in Chinese Medicine. Some of the oldest maps of Acupuncture found were of the Facial Age Map combined the Meridians. In recent years there has been interesting research coming out that confirms this ancient technique of gathering diagnostic information from the Face\, This lecture will give an overview of Facial Diagnosis and how it can be used in the clinic. Special attention will be paid to the connection between organ function and the features of the face and the important diagnostic meanings of facial coloration and markings. \nDeirdre Courtney lectures and teaches at Conferences and Schools around the world on her areas of expertise: Yang Sheng; Facial Diagnosis; Chinese Nutrition; Spirit Points that work with Shen\, Jing and the Emotions. She has been an Acupuncturist\, Herbalist\, Nutritional Counsellor and Chef\, specialising in health foods for over 30 years. She is the author of the book\, Nourishing Life the Yang Sheng Way: Nutrition and Lifestyle Advice from Chinese Medicine\, published by Singing Dragon in 2019. In addition\, she is the Education Director for the Lotus Institute and is involved in the Master Face Reading Certification Program.
