DESCRIPTION:IHS are delighted to be bringing Dr Jeffrey Bland over from the States for a 1 day conference. He is going to be discussing Nutrigenomics in Clinical Practice: The Opportunities and Uncertainties. \nNutrigenomics is seen as the future of nutrition in healthcare. Dr Bland’s presentation will review the history of nutrigenomics and its clinical significance and applications. It will explore present understanding of the strengths and limitations of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis. The discussion will include a clinical review of nutritional epigenomics and the role of the microbiome in modifying gene expression. \nDr Bland founded the Institute of Functional Medicine alongside his wife\, was the first member of the board of Trustees of Bastyr university\, founder of HealthComm International (later to become Metagenics\, Inc) and founder of the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute.
